Sessions and Fees

At Mansion House we are delighted to be able to cater for children from 24 months to their transition into Primary School. We request a small registration fee to secure your child’s name on the waiting list.

Once your child has started at Pre-School, invoices will be issued on a monthly basis.

Payments may be made by cheque, cash or by BACS transfer to the Mansion House Pre-School bank account. Payments may be made weekly or monthly by special arrangement, in which case fees are due on the first session attended in the week or month.

From 4th September 2017, the cost will be £5.60 per hour for 2-3 year olds, and £5.35 per hour for 3-5 year olds. The rate paid is determined by the age of the child at the start of each funding period (1st September, 1st January and 1st April).

The fees cover all expenditure including resources for the children to use (paint, paper etc.), staff wages and training, milk and snack, Pre-School Learning Alliance membership, insurance and other costs incurred by playgroup.

Free Early Education

Once your child is three years old you can start claiming free early education from any of these dates:

  • 1 September
  • 1 January
  • 1 April

This entitles them to up to 15 free hours every week for 38 weeks per year.

Session Times

We try to provide flexibility in the way that you, as parent or carer, decide the hours that you would like.

  • Our official opening times are 8am till 5pm
  • Morning sessions run from 8am until 12pm including Breakfast club
  • Lunch club runs from 12.00 until 1.00pm
  • Afternoon sessions run from 1.00 until 5pm including Tea club

However, you may choose the hours that are suitable for you. For example, your child can arrive later in the session if you have other children to drop at school. Similarly, you might want to finish at 12.00, 3.00 or 3.30 if you have other commitments. We can tailor your child’s session times to your needs.

You can join your free hours together to have hours in the morning plus lunchtime, lunchtime plus afternoon hours, or go right through from 8am to 5pm. Lunch club is treated as one of your funded hours.

You can use your free entitlement of 15 hours and then pay for more, if you choose.

The minimum time that a child can attend per day is 2.5 hours. Parents can choose a pattern that suits them, though we would like to encourage hours that will provide continuity and avoid disruption for the children.

Every term you will be asked to sign a “Parents Declaration Form”. This is then submitted by us to the Local Education Authority at County Hall to claim the funding.

Should we be oversubscribed, the playgroup reserves the right to offer less than 15 hours per child (in line with Government regulations) to ensure that all eligible children benefit.
